Peace

Together in kindness and understanding, let’s take this time to self reflect. I am here to inspire, encourage, and remind you that God has given us the most important weapon we have to fight the enemy, his word.

Now lets dress our souls like we dress our body, EVERYDAY!

PEACE

“Jesus said to them again, Peace be with you: as the father has sent me, even so I am send you. And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, Receive the Holy Ghost” John 20:21-22 ESV

As Easter has come and gone with Jesus death, burial, and resurrection. Jesus first words are, Peace be with you. and then it is followed by him saying receive the Holy Ghost.

In 1983 Detroit gospel singer, Vanessa Bell Armstrong recorded a s song that has always been inspirational in my life. It is called Peace Be Still. The song talks about a raging storm upon the sea and as Jesus slept the disciples awake him concerned about the storm. But Jesus had everything under control. The master of the ocean, earth and the sky all will sweetly obey his will. She goes on to talk about the importance of peace in our lives. Peace in your homes, on your jobs, late in midnight hour, peace be still. Whenever the Lord says peace, there will be peace. Lord have mercy when there is confusion and we don’t know which way to turn.

One of my favorite Gospel singers, Melvin Williams, sings a song called Peace in my heart. Another great and uplifting song. It goes a little something like this, God will give me peace in my heart, storms may rise, and wind may blow and storm may come but it will pass I know. In whatever I do if I let Jesus take a part he will give me peace in my heart. God said in his word that he would keep me in perfect peace, if I keep my mind stayed on him. He keeps me with a smile even when my way seems hard. What he have to do is keep praying, trusting and believing in the Lord. He will give us peace in our heart.

Remember we are each others keeper and the only time that we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

THE BEST GOOD FRIDAY

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5 KJV

JESUS IS CONDEMNED TO DEATH, JESUS CARRIES HIS CROSS, JESUS FALLS THE FIRST TIME, JESUS MEETS HIS MOTHER, SIMON OF CYRENE HELPS JESUS TO CARRY HIS CROSS, VERONICA WIPES THE FACE OF JESUS, JESUS FALLS THE SECOND TIME, JESUS MEETS THE WOMEN OF JERUSALEM, JESUS FALLS THE THIRD TIME, JESUS IS STRIPPED OF HIS CLOTHES, JESUS IS NAILED TO THE CROSS, JESUS DIES ON THE CROSS,(AND THERE WAS SILENCE IN THE HEAVENS) THE BODY OF JESUS IS TAKEN DOWN FROM THE CROSS, JESUS IS LAID IN THE TOMB…………..

He has Risen. “Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for he is risen, as he said, come see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell his disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold I have told you.” Matthew 28: 1-7 NKJV

Behemoth

Behemoth

Now lets dress or souls like we dress our body, EVERYDAY!

BEHEMOTH

“Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly. He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together. His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.” Job 40:16-18 KJV

As a child I remember my thoughts of God as being bigger than the whole world. In my mind I could only look up to see him because he was so high in the sky. And when I sung he’s got the whole world in his hands, I grew to understand he really has us right in the palm of his hand. Here we see God reminding  Job that no matter what the challenge, problem or situation, nothing is too big or hard for him.

As I continue my research into the amazing Behemoth, I learned a lot about these huge dinosaurs. I see the genius of God as he shows his power to create and design living animals both big and small. Gods talents are awesome.

The Behemoth was a Sauropod Dinosaur, which simply means it was a footed lizard. There were many different sauropod with one thing in common: they were gigantic! The Behemoth were called the chief by the almighty in the book of Job, which according to some studies show they still walked the earth around 130 years after Noah’s flood.

They were the largest land animal that ever lived. They were anywhere from 120 feet in length and up to 100 feet in height. Some fossils indicate that the Behemoth could have ranged upward to 190 feet in length. They drank rivers dry and munched on grass.

Thank You Lord

Thank You Lord

Now let’s dress our bodies like we dress our souls, EVERYDAY!

THANK YOU LORD!

“Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!” I Chronicles 16:34 ESV

Hello, have you been trusting God for something and he has answered your prayer. The joy and relief you now feel as you celebrate by dancing, singing and some heavy smiling. Then you raise your hands in adoration as giving him thanks and praised for all he has done in your life. It’s nothing like being able to share those praise reports with others who have been keeping you in prayer.

We can show thankfulness as we recognize his hand in everything. We also can show thanks to the Lord with our actions through gratitude. We must tell the Lord thank you and how much we appreciate all of the things he is doing in our lives. Celebrate the blessing of others as we cheer them on regarding the wonderful things God has done in their lives. Choose to be humble in your attitude. Prayer is the key. Spend time with God daily telling him thank you for all he has done and is doing.

“Lord I want to take this time to say thank you! You have been so good to me. You are right there helping and guiding me. Having you in my life Lord makes the difference. Thank you for your love, for giving me peace in my mind, and for being my friend.”

Remember we are each others keeper and the only time that we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

Children are a Gift

Children are a Gift

“Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.” Psalm 127:3 NLT

I am a proud momma! My beautiful  22 years old daughter will soon be graduating from college. Where has the time gone? As I sit this morning looking at all the different pictures of her through the years, I give thanks to God for blessing me with her. I knew one day I would have to let her go and find her way in this world. Prayerfully trusting you to give her guidance and direction.  I think to myself, how will she grow if I don’t let go.

I am reminded that years ago I asking my grandmother how she did it, raise 8 kids. She looked at me with a loving smile and said, “with the help of the Good Lord and when they all got grown, I gave them back to him.”  Such wisdom my grandmother had. She reminded me of the importance of giving everything over to the Lord, including my child.

Let us thank God for our children as we love, nurture, and celebrate them. They are a gift.

Remember we are each others keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

Is There Anything Too Hard For God?

Is There Anything Too Hard For God?

Together in kindness and in understanding, let’s take this time to self reflect. I am here to inspire, encourage, and remind you that God has given us the most important weapon we have to fight the enemy, his word.

Is There Anything Too Hard For God?

“I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is there anything too hard for me?” Jeremiah 32:27 NIV

Here we see God the ruler over everything posing a question to his creation. The thoughtfully constructed question is design for thinking. The dictionary defines the word anything as referring to a thing no matter what. Looking at the phrase, no matter what means regardless of.

This compelling question requires us to search our lives in response to God. When you look back over your past, was it nothing but God that brought you through? No problem is too big that he can’t solve it, no prayer is too long that he will not  hear, and no promise he can’t keep.  He has the power to solve, answer, fulfill and save.

He is the confidence that we can stand on, stand in the promises of his spoken word. We serve a God of unlimited power, which means possibilities for us. What do you see when you look back over your yesterday?

Remember we are each others keeper and the only time that we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

Less of Me, More of Him

Less of Me, More of Him

Now let’s dress our bodies like we dress our souls, EVERYDAY!

Less of Me, More of Him

“He must become greater; I must become less.” John 3:30 NIV

Recently I have been blessed to publish my first book, Out of the Belly. It is the story of Jonah as it relates to my own journey. Every time I read it, I see less of me, and more of the Lord who worked through me to bring about his purpose and message. What a privilege it has been to do this work.

I know you are on your own journey too. You have been walking in faith and believing God regarding those things he have given your hands to do. No one seems to see it like you do, but you are not discouraged. Instead you just keep looking to the hills from where your help comes from. You are walking by faith and not by sight as you continue to speak those things into existence. God has not forgotten you!

We can do nothing in our own strength friends. It is the Lord who makes every and anything possible. His word says, “my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”  2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV

Lord I desire to please you more in my life and with my actions. Amen.

Remember we are each others keeper an the only time that we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

The Names of God

Now let’s dress our bodies like we dress our souls, EVERYDAY!

The Names of God

“And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and named him Seth. “For God,” she said, “hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, who Cain slew.” and to Seth also there was born a son, and he called his name Enosh. Then began men to call upon the name of the Lord.” Genesis 4: 25-26 NKJV

Let’s start by looking at the word call. The dictionary defines it a cry made as a summons or to attract someones attention. The practice of calling the Lord began around the third generation of mankind. When Adam and Eve’s son Seth had a child of his own it was then that man began to call on the name of the Lord.

It was then, man saw their vulnerability. Simply put we need God. Through out the old testament and New Testament we see man calling upon God for help, guidance, direction, and safety. We are still calling upon the name of the Lord. There are songs, movies, and books that are inspired by his name.
