Women Warriors

Women Warriors

Together with kindness and in understanding, let’s take this time to self reflect. I am here to inspire, encourage, and remind you that God has given us the most important weapon we have to fight the enemy, his Word.

Now let us dress our soul like we dress our bodies, Everyday!

I am the Warrior!!

Judges 5:24-27 ESV

“Most blessed of women be Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite, of tent-dwelling women most blessed. He asked for water and she gave him milk; she brought him curds in a noble’s bowl. She sent her hand to the tent peg and her right hand to the workmen’s mallet; she struck Sisera; she crushed his head; she shattered and pierced his temple. Between her feet he sank, he fell, he lay still; between her feet he sank, he fell; where he sank, there he fell—dead.”

I read an interesting article about the remains of an elite Viking Warrior discovered in Southeastern Sweden after being buried for 1000 years. It was assumed that the warrior was a man, considering the lore of Viking Warriors. But the DNA of the warrior’s bones confirmed a shocking truth. The elite Viking Warrior, buried in an elaborate grave with two sacrificed horses, swords, arrows, and other weaponry, was a woman.

Deborah a prophetess and judge of Israel illustrates a woman in a position of power and authority in ancient times. She was the one the vision was given. She predicted that a woman would be the one the Lord would use to deliver Israel from the enemy. That woman was Jael. She was known as a brave and fierce woman warrior. She was also a woman of peace, but also recognized the need for violence when it was called for. She was an inspiration to women everywhere who are called to fight in times of war. Her actions show that women are capable of not only fighting, but winning. The event predicted by Deborah brought 40 years of peace to Israel.

The courageous spirit of women in the Bible operated in the face of difficultly, danger, and pain above fear with bravery in God’s strength. As you prepare for battle, you’re going to need a few things. First, Prayer. Daily prayer, to be effective you must cultivate a daily prayer habit. As you boldly come making your request to God, do so passionately with intensity. Pray without Ceasing, means to be consistent in your prayer. Pray with the expectation that we serve a God mighty enough to deliver on anything we ask of him. Pray and stand on His promises. Trust God to bring you peace and clarity for your situation. Continue friends to seek his wisdom as he gives you understanding for your specific needs.

Secondly, we must dress our souls for daily battle with the Whole Armor of God. We need his belt of truth, the Breastplate of Righteousness, Shoes of Peace, Shield of Faith, Helmet of Salvation, and his Word, which is the sword of the Spirit. With every fight you face solider (warrior) the armor is the weapon we must have to defeat the enemy.

There were other women who were warriors; Priscilla, Mary Magdalene, Zipporah, Hannah, Esther, and you. Yes you! You’ve fought your share of battles too. Still fighting, speaking to the mountains in your life in Jesus name. I see the warrior in you. Lord knows it ain’t always been easy. You’ve had your share of challenges, setback, and tears. But look at that shine on you! You shine just like the stars in the sky and coming through it all, you still rise like the sun in the east. You are a beautiful woman filled with glorious purpose. You’ve been a lot of things, a mother, friend, teammate, Soror, daughter, Star, CEO, Wife, someone’s girl, Support system, and bread winner. By the grace of God, “you are what you are” and his grace toward you was not in vain!

You know I couldn’t let you all go without sharing one of my favorite fictional warriors. She comes straight out of the DC Comic Universe, Princess Diana of Themyscira, the Amazon/ Olympian demigoddess soldier, also known as Wonder Woman. In the movie Justice League she is asked by the terrorist leader, “what are you?” She responded, “A BELIEVER.” Then of course she lets him have it, as she criss crosses her braclets of submission together giving him an energy explosion in the face!! By the way that’s one of my favorite scenes.

Remember we are each others keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

God Answers Prayer

God Answers Prayer

Together with kindness and in understanding, let’s take this time to self reflect. I am here to inspire, encourage, and remind you that God has given us the most important weapon  we have to fight the enemy, his Word.

Now let us our soul like we dress our bodies, EVERYDAY!

God Answers Prayer

“And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.” I John 5:14-15 ESV

God will always answer our prayers. The question becomes do you hear and accept his answer. There is nothing like getting that YES as we rejoice, thanking him for granting our prayer request. However there are also those times when Gods answer to us is just straight out NO. We must not only trust Him, but accept that he knows what is best for us. He tells us, lean not to our own understanding, but if we acknowledge him in all of our ways he will direct our paths. And finally what do we do when he tells us to WAIT. Well, we must do just that and wait. The word wait means, stay where you are or delay action until a particular time or until something happens. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him. And while you are waiting, rejoice in your hope and be constant in prayer. Your answer will come in time. Gods time.

I have learned that God answers us in through these few basic prayers:

Use me Lord for your Service. If you want to be an instrument for God the Lord he will put you to work building up others through the talents he has blessed you with. “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as waters cover the sea.” Habakkuk 2:14

Forgive me. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgiven us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” I John 1:9  There is nothing like God’s forgiveness and the freedom it brings into our lives. For his mercies are made new every day. Hallelujah!!

I want to be more like you Lord, show me you.  “I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, “know the Lord,” for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 31:33-34

Given me wisdom and understanding in my life Lord, he tells us “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” James 1:5  and the peace of God which surpasses all of our understanding, will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Remember we are each others keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

Fruit of the Spirit

Fruit of the Spirit

Together with kindness and in understanding, let’s take this time to self reflect. I am here to inspire, encourage, and remind you that God has given us the most important weapon we have to fight the enemy, his Word.

Now let’s dress our soul like we dress our bodies, EVERYDAY!

The Fruit of the Spirit

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV

This week I have been sharing who is the Holy Spirit. John 16:13 says, the spirit of truth has come and guides us into all truth. If there is ever any guidance in our lives it should be in Gods truth. It is the only thing that will stand the test of time.

The fruit of the Spirit is the characteristic of God. It is the example of conduct manifested in our lives as believers. It is a representation of the holy spirit’s presence in our lives as we grow as believers. Theses fruits are about how we show change in our life.

Lets briefly look at the fruit:

Love- Love is the key. God loved us so much that he gave his only begotten son, so that we might have a right to the tree of life. Love always protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres.

Joy- One of the most powerful ways to find and keep your joy, is through prayer and worship. No matter what goes on around us we have joy in knowing that God will take care of us.

Peace- “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27  He will keep us in perfect peace when our mind is stayed on him.

Long Suffering (patience)-There is nothing like the timing of God. Trust in him, for his Word tells us they that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength.

Kindness- “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32

Faithfulness- You have been faithful over the few things God has given you friends. Continue to trust his will and way.

Gentleness-To be gentle is not weakness and is visible in the way you talk, walk, and treat others. “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” Proverbs 15:1

Self Control- It comes from the indwelling and transformation by the Holy Spirit. I read that self control proceeds out from within oneself, but not by oneself. We need the help of the Holy Spirit.

The primary purpose of the Fruit of the Holy Spirit represents change as we apply them to our daily lives.

Remember we are each others keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

Hey Sunshine

Hey Sunshine

Together with kindness and in understanding, let’s take this time to self reflect. I am here to inspire, encourage, and remind you that God has given us the most important weapon we have to the enemy, his Word.

Now let’s dress our soul like we dress our bodies, EVERYDAY!

Hey Sunshine

“The Lord make his face shine on you, and be gracious to you.” Numbers 6:25 NIV

The Lord is your joy friends. From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, the name of the Lord is to be praised. The Lord is our sunshine. Can you feel the warmth of his love wrapped around you? No matter the weather of life, he is right by our side. One of my favorite places to enjoy the sunshine is Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  Its nothing like spreading out my towel as I sit with my feet buried in the warm sand.

As I think things over, I reflect on the many opportunity I have had to a “ray of sunshine” for someone, even when I didn’t know it. This popular phrase means, a person or thing that brings happiness into the lives of others. What I have learned is it feels good to my heart, mind, and soul. I have also been blessed by the sunshine of others. God is always on time with what we need, when we need it.

Have you ever been told that you are glowing? Our real glow comes from our relationship with the Lord. Its the God in You. Jesus reminds us to let our light shine before others. You and I were not meant to be a light hidden. We are to let our light shine, so that others may see our good deeds and glorify our Father in heaven.

Here are a few ways to enhance your spiritual glow daily:

*Time with God, that includes prayer, scripture, song, and worship.

*Joy, you know where your help comes from. You know whose you are.

*Smile, it comes back.

*Taking care of our body and mind. Eating healthy, getting plenty of rest and H2O.

*Doing things you love and working toward your goals.

The other day I was scrolling through YouTube and saw this video of a childhood favorite. I would grabbed the nearest wooden spoon and sing along. In 1972 The Brady Bunch kids came out with a song called, Sunshine Day. Let me share some of the lyrics with you.

I think I’ll go for a walk outside now

The summer sun’s callin my name

(I hear ya now)

I just can’t stay inside all day

I gotta get out get me some of those rays

Everybody’s smilin

Sunshine day

Everybody’s laughin

Sunshine day

Everybody seems so happy today

It’s a sunshine day

Hey Sunshine, you have a lot to smile about. You have been a blessing in the lives of others, and others have been that source of  comfort you didn’t see coming. Take Joy in knowing that God has your back.

Remember we are each others keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.
