2025: Faith, Hope, and Love

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to five you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

I pray that everyone had a fantastic Christmas. Are you ready friends? 2025 is just around the corner. These days the world is filled with concerns and uncertainties. Even with all the stuff going on today, God does have a plan for us, His people. Today’s passage suggests several thoughts when I think about the word mindset.

first, make the most of every situation. Second, live life with a purpose. And third, trust Gods timing.

My friends as we walk into the new year, we do so with faith in our actions, hold your head up, standing tall, with our shoulders back and your eyes open. You can do all things through Christ who is your strength. Take these thoughts with you as you head into the new year:

  • If you want a rainbow you gotta have rain.
  • It’s okay to cry, your human.
  • Master the art of doing absolutely nothing.
  • Life is about having a plan B through Z.
  • To expect a miracle, you must first believe.
  • Smile even when it hard or hurts.
  • Happiness is an inside job.
  • When life becomes a roller coaster climb into the front seat, throw your arms up and enjoy the ride.
  • Open yourself up to a friend who wants to help.
  • Look for the best in others.
  • Exercise your faith.
  • Whatever you are be good at it.
  • Believe in your heart that you have the RIGHT to be happy and then choose it!

As we prepare to step into the new year we are not going alone. God is right there with us, every step of the way.  Amen.

Remember friends, we are each other’s keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

Merry Christ-mas Y’all!!

Merry Christ-mas Y’all!!

Merry Christ-mas Y’all

“Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners-of whom I am the worst.” I Timothy 1:15 NIV

In the verse I have chosen today, the apostle Paul considers himself to be the “foremost” or “chief” of sinners. The verse summarizes the mission of Jesus who showed that God cares for those who were considered sinners.

Jesus was born in the town of Bethlehem. He was born with a mission and purpose. The true meaning of Christmas is love. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Jesus came into this world, and yet while we were still sinners, He paid it all by dying for us on Calvary’s Cross. May this Christmas holiday be a reminder to you of the ultimate sacrifice Jesus made for us all.

To all my family, friends, and brothers and sisters in the Lord, have a fantastic Christmas. Keep Jesus in your Christmas and have a very happy holiday. Amen.

Remember friends, we are each other’s keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

“And she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.” Luke 2:7 NIV

Christmas was my favorite time to spend with grandma. Mom and I would help her get her Christmas tree together; boy howdy did that tree need help. As we put the correct branches on the long pole, we could clearly see it was a skinny looking thang. Momma and I both agreed that her tree needed a fur coat to keep warm if it was going to make it through the holidays. We all had a good laugh as we worked hard to get the tree in shape and ready for Christmas decorations.

Then we would put lights outside around the door, the window seal, and the bricked potted plant out from the door. The once lopsided tree now stood straight, tall, and full of beautiful lights and Christmas ornaments. We were all reminded of the importance of keeping Jesus in our Christmas as he was the greatest gift to the world.

As we stood together gazing at the tree, grandma would remind us that there were three generations sanding in the room. Mom and I would take notice as we looked at each other, then we would break out with more talking and laughter at the top of our lungs. Then of course it was time to eat after a day of holiday decorating.

My family and I were blessed to have my grandmother in our lives. She continues to live on through us. Christmas is about giving and service to others.

Jesus is the reason for the season. Born into this world, he came to us bringing the gifts of salvation, healing, restoration, and love. Keep him in your Christmas and have a happy holiday.

Remember friends, we are each other’s keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

Mm Mm Good!

“He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord” Deuteronomy 8:3 NIV

My title is from the 1974 Campbell Soup commercial. Last week I came up with an idea to use this as a title.  I had no idea how significant it would be today. Yes, y’all I have a little cold. You know with a nagging cough, runny and stuffy nose, and I am just a little chilly.

Eating chicken soup is a tradition when you are sick, it’s an old belief that it can help heal you faster and that it is good for you, which it is. It’s nothing like my momma homemade soup. For me and mine, it is truly the stuff of legends. In every bite, I can always taste the Lovin care she puts into it.

What about that spiritual soup friends that comes from the scripture? It comforts, heals, shares, loves, teaches, reaches, preaches, fills us up, direct our path, gives us encouragement and strength us. God’s soup is good for our hearts and minds.

Have you had your SOUP today?
