On the Winning Side

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Joshua 1:8 ESV

The bible teaches that being on the winning side means trusting in God and following his lead. Victory comes from God’s Devine intervention. It is truly nothing but God’s grace and mercy. Scripture reveals to us that the power of God’s will was upon Moses, who answered Gods call and brought the children of Isreal out of Egypt. Job a wealthy man, went through some hard times, losing his children, and all that he had. But he had those who cared for him come sit with him, they were his support system. In the end Job was blessed with more than he had to begin with. Boy David had no fear, for he put his trust in God, as he met the giant through God’s power of a sling shot and stones. The three Hebrew boys, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, took on the fiery that furnace, but the word said the fourth man appeared like the Son of Man. For what is impossible with man, is indeed possible with God.

God’s grace in my life has open doors that man could not close. He took the chains of depression, fear, and anxiety off my ankles, and wrist. His love lifted me. He was that shoulder I could cry on; he was that listening ear that was open to me to talk, even in the midnight hour y’all when it got heavy, he assured me I was safe in his arms. And when I couldn’t walk, he carried me, His child.

I have often dreamed

Of a far-off place

Where a hero’s welcome

Would be waiting for me

Where the crowds will cheer

When they see my face

And a voice keeps saying

This is where I’m meant to be

I’ll be there someday

I can go the distance

I will find my way

If I can be strong

I know every mile

Will be worth my while

When I go the distance

I’ll be right where I belong

Down an unknown road

To embrace my fate

Though the road may wander

It will lead me to you

And a thousand years

Would be worth the wait

It may take a lifetime

But somehow, I’ll see it through

And I won’t look back

I can go the distance

And I’ll stay on track

No, I won’t accept defeat

It’s an uphill slope

But I won’t lose hope

Till I go the distance

And my journey is complete

But to look beyond the glory is the hardest part

For a hero’s strength is measured by his heart

Like a shooting star

I can go the distance

I will search the world

I will face its harms

I don’t care how far

I can go the distance

Till I find my hero’s welcome

Waiting in your arms…

I will search the world

I will face its harms

Till I find my hero’s welcome

Waiting in your arms…
