Abide
Together with kindness and in understanding, let’s take this time to self reflect. I am here to inspire, encourage, and remind you that God has given us the most important weapon we have to fight the enemy, his Word.
Now let us dress our soul like we dress our bodies, EVERYDAY!
I Am The Vine
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5 NKJV
Jesus is described in this passage of scripture as the essential fruit of a Christian life. Staying connected to him is how we produce fruit. Whether it be on your job, starting your own company, finishing school or the volunteer work you are passionate about, connection to Jesus is vital to our success. In the scripture he tells us exactly who he is. Jesus says, “I am the vine.” Jesus is our source for growth and a productive life. He also reminds us of our place in the scheme of things as we are the branches. We cannot do anything in our own strength. If we are cut off from the trunk of the tree of God, our branch will die.
As branches we need the pruning of Jesus. What does it mean to prune? The term means to cut away what is unwanted. Spiritual pruning enhances our growth as it removes what is keeping us from growing. In John 15, Jesus tells us nine times to “abide.” The word abide means accept or act in accordance with (a rule, decision, or recommendation): It also means obey, observe, follow, keep, and hold.
Who is Jesus? He is the Vine, Bread of Life, Light of the World, Gate for the Sheep, Good Shepherd, Resurrection, the Way, and Truth.
Remember we are each others keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.
