Mirror Mirror on the Wall

Mirror Mirror on the Wall

Mirror Mirror on the Wall

“Thou art fairer than the children of men; grace is poured into thy lips: therefore, God hath blessed the forever.” Psalm 45:2 KJV

I bet you can guess what movie my title for today is from. It’s the most recognize quote from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It is a 1937 American animated musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Productions. Did you know that it is based on the 1812 German Fairy tale, by the Brothers Grimm. It was the first animated feature film produced in the United States in 1938. The movie had a budget of 1.5 million dollars, however at the box office it made 418 million dollars.

The scripture begins with a poetic and powerful description of the King, praising and exalting Him both for who He is and what He does. The psalmist begins by simply noting the beauty of the King, saying He is more beautiful/ fairer than all others.

“Mirror mirror on the wall who is the fairest of them all. The lord Jesus He is the fairest of them all!  He is the Word made flesh, who He heals, reveals, compels, he sets free, leads, saves, forgives, provides, and loves. He makes a way out of no way. He wipes our tears away and replaces them with joy. He is our bridge over troubled waters. He walks and talks with us. He is our strong tower. He has us in the palm of his hands. No more loneliness, He is the HOPE that took us through yesterday. He is the head of our today. And He is right there  preparing us for our tomorrow.

Remember friends, we are each other’s keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

Hello

Hello

HELLO

“Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ Greet you.” Romans 16:16 NKJV

Hello in the English is the way I greet others, but it’s not the only way to say it.  In Spanish its Hola.  It is Konnichiwa in Japanese. Bonjour in French. Shalom in Hebrew. And Jambo in Swahili. Did you know that greeting can vary depending on familiarity and culture.

There are plenty of physical ways to say hello too.

Handshakes are common in America, Europe, and many parts of Asia and the Middle East. It’s also popular greeting in Ethiopia.

Bowing is a common practice in many parts of the world with Japan often being the most common. Other places are Thailand, Cambodia, and India.

Another greeting is with a kiss. Cheek kissing is widely another widely known way to say hello, particularly among the French. It is a classic way to greet friends.

In Romans 16:16, the apostle Paul issues a directive to greet one another with a holy kiss. This isn’t romance, instead it is loving, holy, and sacred.  This was also a common form of greeting among family and close friends, symbolized love, brotherly love, and fellowship.

All these things point to God himself, who by his grace offered us his hello and loving kindness going back to the beginning of time. How about this as a thought as it relates to the word, HELLO.

“To change a life, you don’t need to do anything grand. Sometimes all you have to do is just say, Hello. And don’t forget to smile.” Amen.

Remember friends, we are each other’s keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

Abraham & Isaac

Abraham & Isaac

The Lord will Make a Way Somehow

“Take your son, your only son, whom you love-Isaac-and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.” Genesis 22:2 NIV

Growing up as a kid, there were lots of decisions my parents made that I didn’t understand. As a child I trusted, that wherever we were (new city, community, or church) I was safe, because we would be together. As a kid there was security in that for me. Naturally I would dream about what my new school would be like. Would I make friends? I hoped to have nice teachers too. I thought about things like our new church home, and what the people were like. Would they love my family, like Mr. Christ did? Would there be kids my age or just adults and babies who can’t talk.

When Abraham and Sarah were old God gave them a son. I see Isaac, as a loving son, who loved his family. He trusted his daddy. Did you know that Abraham waited 25 years for the gift of a son? Abraham trusted God’s promise, and in time he had a son to spend time with and pour love into.

One day friends, God told Abraham to do something that no doubt had him scratching his head. God told him to take his son Isaac to a special mountain and give him as a sacrifice. Maybe for a fleeting second, he thought about the bad humor of God in that request. Maybe?

Can you see Abraham taking a deep breath as he slows his row, to think for a minute. He remembered that God promised that Isaac would have a family. If he was to be a sacrifice, then how would he have his own family one day? Here we see the season salt of wisdom kicked in his mind. He knew God would make away somehow.  He did not know how, instead he believed God would keep his promise.

Nevertheless, Abraham obeyed. Early in the morning he and Isaac, two helpers along with their supplies on a donkey, began their three-day journey. Can you imagine the conversations they shared? I am sure Abraham’s mind was on his son the whole way. When they arrived, only Abraham and Isaac went up the mountain.

Here we see an inquisitive Isaac, who paid attention to the things around him as he noticed there was something missing-the sacrifice.  He asked his daddy, where was the lamb to sacrifice to God? Abraham according to the scripture said, “my son, God will provide himself a lamb for the burnt offering.” Here again it’s obvious that Isaac had no idea that he was to be the sacrifice.

Abraham built the altar and got ready to offer Isaac to God, but a voice called from heaven and said, “Abraham, I see that you were willing to do what I said. You do not have to offer your son Isaac.” There in the thicket was a ram caught for the sacrifice.  Abraham called the place, “the Lord will provide.”

To me this story wasn’t really about sacrifice, but instead faithfulness and the provision of an on-time God. What he says, He will do! Trust him friends, He will make a way somehow. Amen.

Bring Me My Coat

Bring Me My Coat

Bring Me My Coat

“Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colors. Genesis 37:3 NKJV

Ooh Wee, are you having your share of that wintery mix friends? When I got up this past Monday morning, I started by looking at some of my local news, but it wasn’t telling me much, so I looked out the peep hole on the front door, and all I could see was a blanket of white snow. I then tightened my robe a little tighter, telling myself, I aint going out there. This was going to be a stay-at-home kind of day. However, if I had to go out, I got my coat and accessories to help keep the chill off. As I think about our lesson on Joseph’s coat of many colors, I asked myself what does a coat do? Its job is to protect and cover. Let’s investigate this story shall we.

When Joseph was 17 years old, his father Jacob gave him a beautiful coat. However, this coat came with plenty of obstacles.  I see it like a soap opera right off your television screen. It has all the Young and the Restless drama, plenty of Days of our Lives jealousy, a large amount of All my Children betrayal, and its share of young bratty kids, yes, I am talking about General Hospital.

Joseph was conceived in Jacob’s old age and the coat of many colors symbolized favor.  It was also the beginning of sibling rivalry brought about by the favoritism Jacob showed Joseph. My grandparents had 8 children; growing up I remember asking my grandmother who was her favorite child was. She told me, all of them. My grandmother went on to explain to me, that she had enough love for each and every one of them and that her love was never going to change.

Joseph had the coat for a little while but there were several things that lead to the coat getting destroyed.  It would be safe to say the brothers saw him perhaps as a bit of a tattle tale. As he would bring bad reports back to their father about them. Joseph would also tell his brothers about his dreams showing they would bow down to him one day, suggesting Joseph would rule over them. Can you see how this could be perceived as a unary moment by Joseph, as he rubbed his dream in their faces?  Which only led to them hating him even more.

Again, Jacob sent Joseph out to the fields to check on his brothers as they work. Remember, Joseph had already brought back one bad report about some of his brothers, so they weren’t happy to see him coming. They came up with a plan to kill him when he arrived. However, the oldest brother, Reuben, talked them into throwing him into a pit instead of murdering him. But before Reuben could rescue him out of the pit, his brothers sold him to a passing caravan of Ishmaelites for twenty shekels of silver.

Now that the deed was done, what would they tell their father? They dipped the robe in slaughtered goats’ blood and brought it to their father, asking him to identify it. Their father did see it was his son Joseph’s coat thinking a fierce animal had devoured him and he was torn to pieces.

In the end Joseph took the way up. After the death of their father, Joseph’s brothers were afraid that Joseph would seek his revenge on them. But he was not that attention seeking kid anymore, he was a changed man. Friends when life doesn’t seem fair, consider His response to his brothers:

“Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” Genesis 50:19-20 NIV

It’s a reminder to me to continue to keep my seat and save my energy for prayer, worship, and praise. Into God’s capable hands do I put my everything.  No matter what life’s weather may bring, God has the right kind of coat for every season in our lives. Amen!

Remember friends, we are each other’s keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

Take Me to the Water

Take Me to the Water

Take Me to the Water

“I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” Matthew 3:11-15 NIV

You know just the other day, my daughter Cherelle and I were talking, and I shared with her my memories of her baptism. Holding her in my arms as our eyes locked, she trusted me and did beautifully. The conversation got me thinking about my own baptism celebration. My dad along with one of his deacons did my dunk’in. There I was sitting on the front row with my shorts and top, covered with a white sheet and something like a swimming cap to protect my pressed hair. I was kind of nervous, but I wasn’t the only one going up into the baptismal pool on this Sunday morning. When it was finally my turn, I do remember thinking, Mr. Christ you know I can’t swim right?  As I stepped down in the water, I had the whole churches attention. As my dad said in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, I baptize you, I held my breath the best I could and closed my eyes.  It felt like they were holding me down extra-long, as I came up out the water, coughing and opening my eyes, I could hear clapping and singing. Take me to the water, take me to the water to be baptized.

Seriously friends, when I think about my baptism it was only the beginning in my new life as I took Jesus Christ as my personal savior. I had been writing to him since I was in the 4th grade, and now I was going on this new journey to build a relationship/friendship with the man I had been talking to and asking everything for.

John the Baptist name implies that he baptized people, which he did, but his life was more than baptizing. He focused on the kingdom work set before him. His life was characterized by devotion and surrender to Jesus Christ and His kingdom. He proclaimed the coming of the Messiah to a people who desperately needed a savior. John the Baptist reminded the people, that he was not the Christ, but was sent ahead of him. He let them know that he was a messenger sent by God to proclaim the truth.

What I have learned from the life of John the Baptist is faith. Test and trials are going to come friends, they always do. Hold on to Christ, seek him in truth, and stand firm in your faith. Amen.

Now let’s dress our soul like we dress our bodies, EVERYDAY!

Pack God in Your Suitcase

“If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.” Psalm 139:9-10 NIV

“He’s in here somewhere, I’m sure of it! Oh, there He is, in-between my face cream and hair roller bag!”

Seriously, it’s important to spend time with God a priority. That’s right while you are on vacation too. Before you hit the floor running to breakfast and sight-seeing, it’s essential to include some devotional and prayer time to thank the Good Lord for your R&R. There is that peace of mind, just knowing He is with me wherever I go.

Yes, friends its that time again! My Husband Michael and I are celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary early. And what better way to celebrate than on the high seas with a cruise to the Bahamas. Being passport ready is only part of the trip. The most important person we can bring with us is the Good Lord in our heart, mind, and through our actions.

If you are going to be traveling now, like my husband and I, or this Christmas, delays are often apart of it.  But it is also a perfect opportunity to fill your mind with God’s word and how you can pass on that kindness and patience toward others. You never know how your kindness could help someone who may have really needed it.

Here are some ways to keep Jesus in your vacation:

Start and finish each vacation day in prayer.

Pray together as a family or couple.

Set aside at least 10 minutes each day on vacation for scripture study.

Have a Happy and Safe Holiday friends. And remember, we are each other’s keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

No, Not Right Now

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 NIV

You’re not the only one God has said no to you know. I have had my share of NO’s too. My journey to becoming an author was meant with plenty of opposition along the way. Sometimes I was the one standing in the way. I chuckle when I remember the Lord, saying to me that he was going to put me on a book writing journey. I remember saying to him, Lord you sure you are talking about me. During those early development stages, I had no idea how this was going to come to be. All I really knew was he chose me for it. Then my question was, how? I looked at some publishing companies that accepted work from new writers such as myself. Back in 2019 after working on what I thought was a READY and COMPLETE book, I submitted my work. The response letter I received from the publishing company was full of pleasantries, that concluded with No, I wasn’t the right fit, no, because of a lack of experience, and No, I was a risk. It hurt, cause I thought I had it right, the Lord knew I wasn’t ready, and somewhere deep down inside as I thought things through more slowly, as always he was right. I still had plenty of work to do, not just the manuscript either. I had to get me in order as life continued to happen all around me. I had to stop running, I had to stop thinking it’s my way, I had to get beyond opinions as I step out of my familiar box, began this new journey God had given me. This was going to be my preparation time for the next couple of years. I used that no to prepare my manuscript for God’s glory. This was about me, but then again it wasn’t. As a servant in God’s army, it’s not about what I want, but I am I willing to trust God to share what he gives me, the way he wants. Amen!  Life went on happening, a year and plenty of revamping work later, I heard back from that publishing company asking me to consider self-publishing with them. As I look back on these humble beginnings in hindsight God’s NO was the right call. I wasn’t ready. I knew that God had given me this work to do, his way and in his time. There were days I didn’t know if I was coming or going. I had to STOP and LISTEN to what the Holy Spirit was saying. Moving on out of my own way, to just have faith in the only thing I had, God’s Word. I heard him saying to me, I have been with you this far, I am not going to leave you now. Continue to trust me and what I have given you, you don’t know how to get there, I will show you how.” February 2022, I published my first book, Out of the Belly.

There were plenty of no’s in the scripture too.

  1. No to entering the Promised LandNumbers 13, 14 and 20:2-12
Because the Israelites did not believe in God’s power and disobeyed, and Moses failed to follow God’s instructions when bringing water from the rock, God did not permit them to enter the land He had promised.
  2. No to cursing the IsraelitesNumbers 22-24
When King Balak asked the prophet, Balaam, to curse the Israelites, God refused to curse them. Instead, He blessed them, not once but three times!
  3. No to building His temple1 Chronicles 28
David has plans to build a temple for God, however, God tells him “no”. Instead, God designated David’s son, Solomon, to build His temple.
  4. No to Paul’s travel plansActs 16:6-10
Paul and Silas are planning to travel to Asia Minor to preach when God stops them and sends a vision to Paul. As a result, they travel to Macedonia instead.
  5. Even Jesus petitioned God Matthew 26:39 to rid Him of His suffering the night before He died on the cross and God said no.

For those of you who are experiencing God’s NO right now. Maybe it’s about your career goals, starting a business, homeownership, marriage, children, school, family issues, or maybe it’s just the dating scene. There is so much we cannot see and because of that we must rely on the all-seeing eye of God, who wants nothing but good things for us. We must trust that whatever decision he is making for us, it’s for our good. We are not going to always understand, but that’s where our faith must come into play. Whatever is for you friends, you are not going to miss it. You can’t force yourself in places you’re not meant to fit in. Like a puzzle with a strange piece, it’s just not gonna fit. Amen.

Remember friends, we are each other’s keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

Wake Up Everybody!

Wake Up Everybody!

Together with kindness and in understanding, let’s take this time to self reflect. I am here to inspire, encourage, and remind you that God has given us the most important weapon we have to fight the enemy, His Word.

Now let’s dress our soul like we dress our bodies, EVERYDAY!

Wake Up Everybody!!

“God made two great lights-the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to cover the night. He also made the stars. God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.” Genesis 1:16-18 NIV

Wake Up Everybody, is an R& B song written by John Whitehead, Gene McFadden , and Victor Carstarphen. Originally recorded by Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, with Teddy Pendergrass singing lead vocals on the title track from their 1975 album. They performed the song on Soul Train on November 22, 1975. The beginning music of the song draws you in, and as my head started bobbin and as the singer sang the words to the song, it got me thinking. Isn’t it amazing how there is nothing new under the sun and how this song is still relevant today. The song itself seeks to make all of us more consciously aware of what we are all capable of when we come together. In a world where poverty, violence, economic inequality, education, climate change, gender equality, discrimination, terrorism, mental health, homelessness, substance abuse, gun control, pollution, and crime are only a few of the problems facing the people of the world. The dictionary defines wake up as to cease from sleeping. It also means to become aware or make someone aware of something.

Here are some of the lyrics:

Wake up everybody no more sleeping in bed, no more backward thinking time for thinking ahead, the world has changed so very much from what it used to be, there is so much hatred war and poverty.

The song also reminds me of some of my daughter’s favorite books, that I would read to her when she was my baby. Do you all remember the Berenstain Bears?  You had Papa Bear, Momma Bear, Brother Bear, and Sister Bear, Since the 1962 debut of the first book, The Big Honey Hunt, the series has grown to over 400 titles, which have sold approximately 260 million copies in 23 languages. Not only did these little paperback books put a smile on my daughter’s face, as we read them over and over again, it represented real life experiences, full of the power of the family. They encourage the importance of saying let’s be aware of ourselves, let’s talk about it, and let’s see how we can make better choices. If you haven’t read one of those books in a while, I encourage you to go your local bookstore and head to the children’s section. With titles like: Messy Room, Picnic, Love their Neighbors, The Bears’ Vacation, Go to Camp, Catch the Bus, Patience Please, Get in a Fight, Kindness Counts, Chores, Junk Food, Take Turns, Too Much TV, and The Truth. Believe me friends, you are gonna find something to warm your heart and stimulate your mind.

On the first day of creation, God said, “Let there be light” (Genesis 1:3), and light appeared as a thing separate from darkness. The phrase let there be light is a translation of the Hebrew phrase which is a literal translation for “Light, exist.” God is speaking into the void and commanding light to come into being. The Bible tells us that God created the heavens and the earth and everything else that exists by simply speaking them into existence (Genesis 1). His personality, power, creativity, and beauty were expressed in creation. The idea of light, existing first in God’s mind, was given form by the words “Let there be light” or “Let light exist.”

Consider this thought friends, the reality of the creative power of God’s voice has important spiritual implications that go well beyond the creation account itself. Light is often used as a metaphor in the Bible, and the word illumination (“divine enlightenment of the human heart with truth”) has to do with bringing things into the light. Spiritual illumination is a kind of “creation” that occurs in a human heart. “God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.” Jesus Himself is “the light of the world.”

Jesus reminds us in scripture that he is the light of the world, and whoever follows him, will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. When I woke up this morning, I did not have any doubt, I am just grateful for another day. When I look all around me friends, I can’t help but marvel at the genius of his hands. Tell me friends, are you awake? AMEN!!

Remember friends, we are each other’s keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

1,2,3!!

1,2,3!!

Together with kindness and in understanding, let’s take this time to self reflect. I am here to inspire, encourage, and remind you that God has given us the most important weapon we have to fight the enemy, His Word.

Now let’s dress our soul like we dress our bodies, EVERYDAY!

1,2,3!!

“Then Jesus was led up by the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.” Matthew 4:1NKJV

As I think back on the concept of threes, 1, 2, 3, in my younger years, this was how God would to talk with me. When something was of great importance, he would show it to me in threes. This started in high school. On my first real job once my daughter was old enough for day care, I remember spending the first part of my day, calling schools, parents and checking on various services that would be beneficial for the families I serviced. After lunch, I thought to myself this would be a great day to go make a few home visits.

At one of the homes, I went to no one was there. I did see a sign on the front of the steel gate that read, Beware of Dog. Let’s just say for all practical purposes this was my first sign (number one) that God was talking to me. Sitting there in the vehicle, I took my time filling out the door hanger style information sheet. Once I got out of the car, I did notice that there was a dog on the porch.

Looking around I entered the gate and walked up the porch stairs to the front door (that’s number two). There was this tiny pup sleeping on a blanket in a basket. He was the cuties little pup you’d ever wanna see ya’ll. His blue eyes opened and locked with mine, as he yawned, stretched, and yelped for my attention.  I smiled down at him, giving him plenty of oohs, awes and baby talk. Getting back to my reason for coming to the door in the first place, I glanced over my contact information on the door hanger and then put it on the doorknob. I gave the pup one more glance and said, “bye, bye.”

When I turned around there was a momma Pitbull standing there and she did not look happy that I was first on the porch with her baby, and secondly that I was in her yard. (that’s three ya’ll) What does one do in a situation like this? Did I tell you she was looking at me like I was a king size doggie treat. In those precious seconds, I saw my life and that beware of dog sign flashing before my eyes.

Not wanting to show fear, I slowly backed away from her baby, as I moved ever so slowly down the stairs, still facing her.  Once I got on the other side of that gate and closed it, she went crazy. I thought she was going to take the gate down. I hurried up and got back in the car, relieved to still be alive and unharmed. I gave Jesus some praises and hallelujah’s all the way back to the office friends! He protected me. As I replayed that situation over in my head, I realized it happened all because I ignored the warning sign at the gate. I learned a valuable lesson that day, and throughout my career from that point on, I never made that mistake again.

Our lesson for today speaks about Jesus who was led up by the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. The word led implies following the will of another. To be led by the Spirit is to follow the guidance of the spirit, it is to be submissive to His will. There is no surprising God when it comes to anything. Even though His divinity was hidden in a human body, it took nothing away from what he already knew as the truth. The word goes on to say that when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward he was hungry. What are you like when you are hungry? Are you cranky, mean, lightheaded, or are you lie me, can’t think straight because your stomach growling so loud.

Let’s look at the Word in action through Jesus Christ as his response to the Satan with three statements: First,“it is written man shall not live by bread alone, but on every word that comes from God’s mouth.” I am reminded of how powerful God’s Word is. It is life and strength. And when we do not have enough of God’s Word, we lose clarity and focus. Secondly, he told Satan, “thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.”  Jesus is both clear and direct as reminds him who rules. God was on the scene before he was made to worship him. And thirdly, “though shalt worship the Lord your God and him only you shall serve.” Jesus, the God on earth reaffirms his position and authority. As tired, worn out and hungry as Jesus may have been, His spiritual muscles were working just fine.

Friends, through every test, depend on the Word of God to help you get through it.  Amen!

Remember friends, we are each other’s keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

Good Health

Good Health

Together with kindness and in understanding, let’s take this time to self reflect. I am here to inspire, encourage, and remind you that God has given us the most important weapon we have to fight the enemy, His Word.

Now let’s dress our soul like we dress our bodies, EVERYDAY!

Good Health

“Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.” 3John 1:2 NIV

In my younger days I did not worry about what I ate, what I drank, or exercising. Over the years I have done okay.  I have stayed active, some exercise, and trying to eat right. At this point in my life, I have recognized that our health is our greatest wealth and asset. Let me say that again. I said, “our health is our greatest wealth and asset.”  A healthy body gives us the strength and energy to achieve better results in every aspect of our lives.

Consider this friend, our overall health and well-being-emotional, mental, spiritual as well as physical should always be our number one priority. Without it, guess what? Nothing else matters. God has designed the human body so that it is a finely tuned instrument. It can endure a great many things, like fractures, cuts, bruises, pain, and stretches. However, we still must do our best to take care of the temple God has given us for this life.

Did you know that a major part of the Bible’s health instruction dates back to the time of Moses. Yet in our day, many researchers and medical doctors are stunned at the accuracy and effectiveness of its many provisions. Should they really be surprised at the omnipotence of God, After all it is His genius that designed and created the human body.

Here are a few reminders of what health wealth looks like from Philips.come.eg called healthy Corner.

– Water.

I don’t know about you, but I definitely need to drink more H2O. Drinking enough water maintains the body’s fluid balance, which helps transport nutrients in the body, regulate body temperature, and digest food.

– Exercise.

  • Regular exercising burns calories and helps you manage your weight. I try to get in three days a week of cardio and weights.

– Attitude.

  • Start your day with a healthy breakfast. People who eat breakfast are less likely to overeat later in the day.
  • Get plenty of sleep.
  • Take a walk after dinner instead of watching TV.
  • Avoid using drugs, nicotine, and alcohol as a way to cope with negative feelings and stress.

– Less stress.

It is a stressful world out there! Stress has become a part of our modern life and it puts our bodies in a heightened state for a long period of time, which can silently harm our hearts.

Look for ways to reduce stress, manage your time, connect with others, and spend time doing what you love.

– Think positive. We must encourage our own souls, and that is where positive affirmations come in. Positive thinking can improve the immune system functions and decrease blood pressure.

– Healthy eating.

  • Having a well-balanced and healthy diet can make you feel better.
  • Eat more fruits and vegetables.
  • Choose whole grains, like oatmeal, whole-wheat bread, and brown rice, seafood, lean meats, poultry, eggs, fat-free or low-fat milk, cheese, beans, nuts, and seed.

A Healthy lifestyle doesn’t have to be a struggle, it can be a creative adventure. Here’s to Good health!

Remember friends, we are each other’s keeper and the only time we should be looking down on on someone is when we are helping them up.
