Hype Man

Hype Man

Hype Man

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 NIV

What is a hype man?  It can be defined as a supporting performer who builds excitement for a main act. This can often be seen at concerts where the hype man calls for the audience to responded to chants that will energize and build excitement for audience.  In a broader sense, a “hype person’ is any enthusiastic supporter of a person, group, or thing.

Did you know that you can be your own hype man according to scripture? Just look up the word encouragement. The action of encouraging our own souls, is an act of self-motivation, reframing perceived failures as learning opportunities, the actions of getting back up, even when we fall, and all while maintaining a positive outlook.

Jesus promises his followers will receive power from the real hype man, the “Holy Ghost.” He is the third person of the Trinity, a comforter, a teacher, and a source of power leading us to the truth. If you read on into Act chapter 2, you will see the importance of God’s timing, miraculous signs, full empowerment, the impact, and results.

Remember friends, we are each other’s keeper and the only time we should e looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

The Invisible Man

The Invisible Man

The Invisible Man

“But the advocate, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” John 14:26, NIV

The invisible man was written by British writer H.G. Wells and published in 1897. It is about a scientist named Jack Griffin who devoted himself to inventing ways to change the body’s refractive index so that it absorbs no reflects light. He carries out this procedure on himself and renders himself invisible but fails to reverse it. In the end, he is seized and beaten by an angry mob. As he dies his battered body becomes visible. It is later revealed that “Marvel” has secretly kept Griffin’s notes.

The novel was adapted into comic book form in the 1950’s and by “Marvel Comics” in 1976. With a dozen of movies and television series based on the novel. A few come to mind, like Hollow Man, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and one of my favorites, Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man. These are only a few of the many movies that have come from that book written 127 years ago.

From fiction to reality, I share with you the real invisible man from the scriptures. He is also known as comforter, counselor, advocate, seal, guide, intercessor, revealer, spirit of truth, spirit of God, the Lord, Christ, spirit of life, teacher, and Witness, I am talking about the Holy Spirit. He is the third person of the Trinity and appears throughout the scripture, by whom great works of power are made manifest. In the New Testament, Jesus promises the Spirit as a permanent guide, teacher, seal of salvation, and comforter for believers.

The book of Acts describes him has mighty rushing wind, fire shut up in our bones, He is the incense of pure and unmatched manifestation of Gods Power. He lifts, performs, prophesizes, teaches, wisdom, He is Gods will that comes to Pass. He is an indwelling, that works in and through us to accomplish the Fathers will. His power leads, convicts, and equips us to do His will and spread his message.

He is who moves on the inside reminding us to wait on God and to trust Him. He is with us wherever we go friends, The Holy Ghost. I feel His presence and I am not alone. Thank you, Jesus. Glory be to God. Amen.

Remember friends, we are each other’s keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.
