Jesus Changes Everything

Jesus Changes Everything

Together with kindness and in understanding, let’s take this time to self reflect. I am here to inspire, encourage, and remind you that God has given us the most important weapon we have to fight the enemy, his Word.

Now let’s dress our soul like we dress our bodies, EVERYDAY!

Jesus Changes Everything

John 19:28-30 NKJV

After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!” Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth. So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.

Passing by the city bus stations, I read a message plastered to the side of one of the buses: It read: Jesus changes everything. In my own life, I thought about those words and how true they were for me. I was able to see how He has changed everything for me. Through His sacrifice on the Cross, he paid it all for our sins and saved us from eternal damnation at the hands of our enemy, Satan.

When he conquered the grave, Jesus not only claimed his authority over death, but he also opened the gates of heaven by offering us the gift of salvation, thus enabling us to live in eternal righteousness with God. He loved us so much, that he showed that while we were sinners, He died for us.

Yes, Jesus Changes everything. He brings to us transformation.

·      Jesus Transforms our Mind– And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is good, acceptable and the perfect will of God. Whether we like it or not, there are influences in our culture, both good and bad. What do you bring to the table of influence in shaping the lives of others?

·      Jesus Transforms our desires-Delight yourselves also in the Lord and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Sure we all want God to grant us the desires of our hearts. But has there been those times that something you thought you wanted, you really didn’t want at all? What do you desire most from God in your life?

·      Jesus Transforms our Relationships-Jesus has a way of transforming the way we interact with others, from family, friends, co-workers, and even strangers. Throughout the Gospels, Jesus commands us to love one another the way he loves us. What does loving others look like for you?

·      Jesus Transforms our Purpose-One of the most amazing things about following Christ is the purpose he will establish in our lives. It is nothing like knowing your purpose as you do what God has given you with joy and a smile. When we live out our purpose, we become a part of something so much bigger than ourselves. We show courage because of our faith in the promises of God through his Word. Remember, in all things we are more than conquerors through him that loves us. Yes friends, Faith over fear, are you ready to show up, and let the God in you show out?

Here are a few examples of how contact with Jesus Changes everything

As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man blind from birth. Jesus said, While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with spit, and put it on the man’s eyes.  “Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam” (this word means “Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing. Jesus changes everything.

Then Jesus went to Jairus’s house. The house was filled with people who were crying because of the little girl’s death. It’s too late, but Jesus took the girl by the hand. He told her to get up. She stood up and walked. Jesus Changes everything.

There was a certain man who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to get well?” The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.” Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” And immediately the man was made well, He took up his bed, and walked. Jesus changes everything.

He turned the water to wine, feed the multitude with fish and bread. He cast out demons, calms the storms, healed the sick and cured the lame.

Yes, Jesus changes everything.

Remember we are each other’s keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

A Willing Spirit

“Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The Spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41 NKJV

Let me share this lighthearted story titled, the Spirit is Willing, but the Dentures are Missing by Stan Toner, Grandpa and grandma were sitting in there porch rocks watching the beautiful sunset and reminiscing about “the good old days,” When grandma turned to grandpa and said, “Honey to you remember when we first started dating and you used to just casually reach over and take my hand?” Grandpa looked over at her, smiled, and took her aged hand in his. With a littles smile, Grandma pressed a little further, “Honey, do you remember how after we were engaged you’d sometimes lean over and suddenly kiss me on the check?” Grandpa leaned slowly toward Grandma and gave her a lingering kiss on her wrinkled cheek. Growing bolder still, Grandma said, “Honey, do you remember how, after we were first married, you’d nibble on my ear?” Grandpa slowly got up from his rocker and headed into the house. Alarmed, Grandma said, “Honey, where are you going?”  Grandpa replied, “to get my teeth.”

The scripture goes along with Easter as Jesus prepares to make the ultimate sacrifice of Love for us. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and the sins of the whole world. Just before Jesus arrest, we see him in the Garden of Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, “watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” The command came after Jesus had been praying to the father and later found the disciples sleeping instead of praying. He had asked them to stay awake and pray with him, but their eyes were heavy. They slept right up until the time the armed mob came to take Jesus away.

The story of the disciples in Gethsemane rings true for all of us. The dictionary defines the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak, to say that a person wants to do something, but cannot from lack of strength or energy. Jesus tells us what we can do-“watch and pray.” We can only remain faithful when we are devoted to prayer. In prayer, we continually allow God to forgive us, cleanse us, teach us, and strengthen us to obey Him. We all know the struggles as distractions come for us. But when we watch and pray- we remain spiritually alert and appeal to God for help. And when we fail, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, He is the King Of Glory.

Remember we are each other’s keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

THE BEST GOOD FRIDAY

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5 KJV

JESUS IS CONDEMNED TO DEATH, JESUS CARRIES HIS CROSS, JESUS FALLS THE FIRST TIME, JESUS MEETS HIS MOTHER, SIMON OF CYRENE HELPS JESUS TO CARRY HIS CROSS, VERONICA WIPES THE FACE OF JESUS, JESUS FALLS THE SECOND TIME, JESUS MEETS THE WOMEN OF JERUSALEM, JESUS FALLS THE THIRD TIME, JESUS IS STRIPPED OF HIS CLOTHES, JESUS IS NAILED TO THE CROSS, JESUS DIES ON THE CROSS,(AND THERE WAS SILENCE IN THE HEAVENS) THE BODY OF JESUS IS TAKEN DOWN FROM THE CROSS, JESUS IS LAID IN THE TOMB…………..

He has Risen. “Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for he is risen, as he said, come see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell his disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold I have told you.” Matthew 28: 1-7 NKJV
