Hype Man

Hype Man

Hype Man

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 NIV

What is a hype man?  It can be defined as a supporting performer who builds excitement for a main act. This can often be seen at concerts where the hype man calls for the audience to responded to chants that will energize and build excitement for audience.  In a broader sense, a “hype person’ is any enthusiastic supporter of a person, group, or thing.

Did you know that you can be your own hype man according to scripture? Just look up the word encouragement. The action of encouraging our own souls, is an act of self-motivation, reframing perceived failures as learning opportunities, the actions of getting back up, even when we fall, and all while maintaining a positive outlook.

Jesus promises his followers will receive power from the real hype man, the “Holy Ghost.” He is the third person of the Trinity, a comforter, a teacher, and a source of power leading us to the truth. If you read on into Act chapter 2, you will see the importance of God’s timing, miraculous signs, full empowerment, the impact, and results.

Remember friends, we are each other’s keeper and the only time we should e looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

Encouragement

Encouragement

Encouragement

“For nothing will be impossible with God.” Luke 1:37 ESV

Encouragement is something that we all need. We never truly know what another person might be going through, and how our encouragement uplifts them. Not only is it important to encourage others, but our own souls as well. Other than God, who knows what you have been through and are going through better than you. The Scripture is filled with passages of encouragement as we journey on this sometimes-tedious journey. My mind goes to:

The Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation. For the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you the victory. The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall, I fear? I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace.

As you and I move forward today let us do so with our minds filled with intention:

  • Don’t let the opinion of others control your life.
  • Don’t get caught up in the shame of the past.
  • Stop Procrastination.
  • Choose to do something.
  • Skip the who’s right attitude.
  • Don’t Running from the problem instead of solving it.
  • Make decisions instead of excuses.
  • Don’t Overlooking positive points.
  • Appreciating the present moments.

And remember what the scripture says. “I can do all things through him who strengthens me” and so can you.

Remember friends, we are each other’s keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.#encour

TAKE COURAGE IN KNOWING WHO AND WHOSE YOU ARE

TAKE COURAGE IN KNOWING WHO AND WHOSE YOU ARE

Together with kindness and in understanding, let’s take this time to self reflect. I am here to inspire, encourage, and remind you that God has given us the most important weapon we have to fight the enemy, his WORD.

Now let’s dress our soul like we dress our bodies, EVERYDAY!

Take Courage in Knowing Who and Whose You Are

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 ESV

As I stand looking into the bathroom mirror, I see a reflection of a woman with all of the imperfections. As I stand thoughts about my christian identity comes to mind. We were made in the image of God. How incredible is that! That means that we have his original DNA. When you look into the mirror do you see who and whose you are?

The dictionary defines identity as the fact of being who or who a person or thing is. For example a person’s name. It is also the condition or fact of being the same, associated or affiliated with something, Do you know who you are in Jesus Christ? We are his sons and daughters, He is our bread in a barren land, he is water when we are thirsty, he is a friend to the friendly, he is the way, truth, and the light to our path.

Knowing who you are is important as it provides purpose in our everyday lives. When challenges come our way, misunderstandings, and confusion we have God’s word to stand on. Knowing who we are in Christ and through his Word we have the tools needed to build up ourselves on what living life is all about. Joy, happiness, persistence, and a good sense of humor along the way.

Before we can understand who we are in Christ we have to know who God is. The scriptures tell us, he is our creator, he is unchanging, he is love, he is faithful, he is knowledge, he is a spirit, he is the light, he is our father and he is a consuming fire. Now that we got that covered let’s look at who we are in the Lord.

We are forgiven, blessed, accepted, loved, sealed with the Holy Ghost, a child of the most high God, and solider. You are beauty out of ashes, encouraged, believing God for all things, you can do all things through Christ who is your strength, you new creation by the renewing of my mind, you can have peace that passes all understanding, YOU ARE MORE THAN ENOUGH!

Remember we are each others keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.
