What a Friend We Have In Jesus

What a Friend We Have In Jesus

Together with kindness and in understanding, let’s take this time to self reflect. I am here to inspire, encourage, and remind you that God has given us the most important weapon we have to fight the enemy, his Word.

Now let us dress our soul like we dress our bodies, EVERYDAY!

What A Friend We Have In Jesus

1 Thessalonians 5:11 ESV

Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

🎶 🎵 🎼 Sing along with me,

What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!

What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!

O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,

All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

The greatest friend anyone could have is Jesus Christ. He gladly calls us friend, and he proved his commitment and affection for us in a convincing way: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for his friend.” He demonstrated his love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, he died for us. What an amazing gift to have a friend. They are so few and in-between. I believe we were created for relationships and friendship is an important part of what keeps us human. This week I had dinner with a very good friend of mine. The pouring rain could not have kept me away. Picking up where we left off, we talked about our careers, what we are passionate about, our children, and families. Did I mention the tons of laughter and smiles we shared? What a blessing.

What should a true friend be:

A true friend loves at all times, gives heartfelt and thoughtful advice, authentic, they share life’s journey with us, forgiving, very loyal, consoles us when we are in trouble, celebrate our success, encourages us to keep going when things get hard, cries with us, praying for and with us, dreams with us, they are vocal cheerleaders and our biggest fan. Do you have friends in your life that you know without a doubt, we’re hand picked by God to be in your life? Friendship, what a beautiful gift we can share with others for life.

Remember we are each others keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

The Gift of Friendship

The Gift of Friendship

The gift of Friendship

“Every good and perfect gift is from above coming down from the father of heavenly light.” James 1:17 NIV

What do you think of when you hear the word gift? You may think of clothing, jewelry, a new car, a fancy meal, or even a vacation. Those are all great gifts, but what about the gift of friendship? It is an amazing gift to be able to call someone a friend. Friendship is defined as a state of mutual trust and support between friends.

This weekend I had lunch with some former co worker who I haven’t seen in such a long time. Covid has kept us apart as we stay in touch by phone. Lunch was more than food to eat for me, as we talked and laughter for the next 3 hour.

What a blessing it was for me to just see their faces. It was just like old times, but better. I was thankful that they each took time out of their day to get together. In the mist of such great company I found myself praying for each one of them, their homes, and families. What an awesome gift it was to sit among people I call friend.

When you get the chance be sure to reach out to those you call friend and tell them how much you appreciate them. Love is an action word, so I will not hesitate, I am picking up my phone now to tell my friends how much I enjoyed spending time with each of them.

Remember we are each others keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.
