DON’T LET NOBODY TURN YOU AROUND
Together with kindness and in understanding, let’s take this time to self reflect. I am here to inspire, encourage, and remind you that God has given us the most important weapon we have to fight the enemy, his WORD.
Now let’s dress our soul like we dress our bodies, EVERYDAY!
Don’t Let Nobody Turn You Around
“But Lot’s wife, behind him, looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.” Genesis 19:26 ESV
In the story of Lot and his wife found in Genesis, here we see God is going to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah for their wickedness. At dawn the angels took Lot and his family out of Sodom so they would not be destroyed with the city. When they were out of the city one of them said, “flee for your lives! Don’t look back, and don’t stop anywhere in the plain! Flee the mountain or you will be swept away!” As the family made haste the Lord rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah from the Lord out of the Heavens. But in disobedience to the angel’s command, Lot’s wife looked back and became a pillar of salt.
In my mind the thought of Lot’s wife looking back was a form of hesitation of leaving all she knew behind. The Lord has put on my mind the importance of letting go of things and people. The lesson of Lot’s wife was about more than just about leaving a city, but trusting.
Aint going to let nobody to me round, this African American civil rights song is based on an African American spiritual, “Don’t let nobody turn me around. A version of that song was included in the 1940 book Negro Folk Songs
Aint gonna let nobody
Turn me ’round
Turn me ’round
Aint gonna let nobody
Turn me round
I’m gonna keep on walkin’
Keep on talkin
Marchin into freedom land
I encourage you friends don’t let the enemy still your joy, peace, and happiness. Do not allow opinions to decide who you are or what you want to do. Everyone has a critic. Choose for yourself who and what you are going to believe. Tell me friends how long will you continue to be oppressed by negativity, foolishness and Jealousy. You’ve come a long way baby, and don’t let nobody turn you around. Keep your eyes and minds stayed on those things of the Lord. Abide in the vine, because apart from him you can do nothing. But you can do all things through Christ who is your strength.
Remember we are each others keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.
