A House Divided

A House Divided

A House Divided

“But He, knowing their thoughts, said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house fall.” Luke 11:17 New King James Version

There are three accounts in the Gospels in which Jesus states that a kingdom divided against itself is laid waste or a house divided cannot stand, Luke 11:17, Mark 11:17, and Matthew 12:2. All three of this statement are spoken in response to the Pharisees’ accusation that Jesus was casting out demons by the power of Satan. All I can say on that is really. The king of Kings, Lord of Lords, has power from upon high.

 Jesus’ does thing with a purpose on purpose. His point is clear friends, a group, organization, job, home, family, and nation that continues to suffer with strife, and bitterness will within itself FALL. Have you looked around at the state of our country? Do you see what I see? Satan is having a ball as he has come to the highest office in United States. I am just calling it what it is y’all. We can know a tree by the fruit it bears. I’m not gonna call an apple tree an orange tree, when I clearly see it’s an apple tree.

We the American people are going to have to work together if we are going to accomplish anything. All of this stealing from Peter to pay Paul must stop. The Bible says that a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. Paul appeals to the churches that there be no divisions among the believers. The churches should be unified in their purpose to avoiding people who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to sound doctrine. But we know that is not true, if I have heard it one time, I have heard it a thousand, Satan goes to church. He walked in with sista Sally whose dress was way too short for the front row, he walked in with brother Thomas who just got through cussing his wife out in the car, he even held hand with Granny rose, who is just mean all the time. He got in there through power couple who believe their status and money will put them right into the kingdom of God. Not.

Let me leave you with this scripture, that speaks volumes to not only the United States, but also to the people of the world. It comes from 2 Chronicles 7:14, “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their lands.

Remember friends, we are each other’s keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

I Know He Watches Over Me

I Know He Watches Over Me

I Know He Watches Over Me

“So Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” Matthew 10:31 NIV

In this passage of scripture, Jesus is telling us that we are worth more than many sparrows. Jesus told His followers that they will face persecution because of their faith in Him, but he reminds them that he is with us no matter what happens. Jesus tells His disciples to not worry. In scripture he says, “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your father’s care. And even the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”

Friends If God cares this much about a tiny sparrow, just think about how much he cares about you and I. God loves us unconditionally and he cares about every part of our lives. You matter, never doubt that for a second. Do you realize that we, the human race are unique among God’s creation, and there is nothing made in his image except for us. God is amazing.

His eye is on the sparrow was written in 1905 by lyricist Civilla D. Marin and composer Charles H. Gabriel. The song has been sung by many artists over the years: including Tanya Blount and Lauryn Hill, who recorded it for the Sister Act 2 soundtrack. Mahalia Jackson’s recording of the song was honored with the Grammy Hall of Fame Award. This list also includes Ethal Waters, Gladys Knight, and Whitney Houston.

 May the words of this song encourage you, like it has encouraged me:

Why should I feel discouraged

Why should the shadows come

Why should my heart be lonely

And long for heav’n and home

When Jesus is my portion?

My constant friend is he;

His eye is on the sparrow

And I know he watches me;

I sing because I’m happy,

I sing because I am free

For his eye is on the sparrow,

And I know he watches over me

Let not your heart be troubled,

His tender word I hear,

And resting on his goodness

I lose my doubts and fears

Though by the path he leadeth

But one step I may see;

His eye is on the sparrow,

And I know he watches over me

Whenever I am tempted,

Whenever clouds arise;

When songs give place to sighing,

When hope within me dies,

I draw the closer to him,

From care he sets me free;

His eye is on the sparrow,

And I know he watches me.

I know he watches me.

Amen!
