The Invisible Man

The Invisible Man

The Invisible Man

“But the advocate, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” John 14:26, NIV

The invisible man was written by British writer H.G. Wells and published in 1897. It is about a scientist named Jack Griffin who devoted himself to inventing ways to change the body’s refractive index so that it absorbs no reflects light. He carries out this procedure on himself and renders himself invisible but fails to reverse it. In the end, he is seized and beaten by an angry mob. As he dies his battered body becomes visible. It is later revealed that “Marvel” has secretly kept Griffin’s notes.

The novel was adapted into comic book form in the 1950’s and by “Marvel Comics” in 1976. With a dozen of movies and television series based on the novel. A few come to mind, like Hollow Man, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and one of my favorites, Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man. These are only a few of the many movies that have come from that book written 127 years ago.

From fiction to reality, I share with you the real invisible man from the scriptures. He is also known as comforter, counselor, advocate, seal, guide, intercessor, revealer, spirit of truth, spirit of God, the Lord, Christ, spirit of life, teacher, and Witness, I am talking about the Holy Spirit. He is the third person of the Trinity and appears throughout the scripture, by whom great works of power are made manifest. In the New Testament, Jesus promises the Spirit as a permanent guide, teacher, seal of salvation, and comforter for believers.

The book of Acts describes him has mighty rushing wind, fire shut up in our bones, He is the incense of pure and unmatched manifestation of Gods Power. He lifts, performs, prophesizes, teaches, wisdom, He is Gods will that comes to Pass. He is an indwelling, that works in and through us to accomplish the Fathers will. His power leads, convicts, and equips us to do His will and spread his message.

He is who moves on the inside reminding us to wait on God and to trust Him. He is with us wherever we go friends, The Holy Ghost. I feel His presence and I am not alone. Thank you, Jesus. Glory be to God. Amen.

Remember friends, we are each other’s keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

Fruit of the Spirit

Fruit of the Spirit

Together with kindness and in understanding, let’s take this time to self reflect. I am here to inspire, encourage, and remind you that God has given us the most important weapon we have to fight the enemy, his Word.

Now let’s dress our soul like we dress our bodies, EVERYDAY!

The Fruit of the Spirit

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV

This week I have been sharing who is the Holy Spirit. John 16:13 says, the spirit of truth has come and guides us into all truth. If there is ever any guidance in our lives it should be in Gods truth. It is the only thing that will stand the test of time.

The fruit of the Spirit is the characteristic of God. It is the example of conduct manifested in our lives as believers. It is a representation of the holy spirit’s presence in our lives as we grow as believers. Theses fruits are about how we show change in our life.

Lets briefly look at the fruit:

Love- Love is the key. God loved us so much that he gave his only begotten son, so that we might have a right to the tree of life. Love always protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres.

Joy- One of the most powerful ways to find and keep your joy, is through prayer and worship. No matter what goes on around us we have joy in knowing that God will take care of us.

Peace- “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27  He will keep us in perfect peace when our mind is stayed on him.

Long Suffering (patience)-There is nothing like the timing of God. Trust in him, for his Word tells us they that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength.

Kindness- “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32

Faithfulness- You have been faithful over the few things God has given you friends. Continue to trust his will and way.

Gentleness-To be gentle is not weakness and is visible in the way you talk, walk, and treat others. “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” Proverbs 15:1

Self Control- It comes from the indwelling and transformation by the Holy Spirit. I read that self control proceeds out from within oneself, but not by oneself. We need the help of the Holy Spirit.

The primary purpose of the Fruit of the Holy Spirit represents change as we apply them to our daily lives.

Remember we are each others keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.

Liar Liar Pants on Fire

Liar Liar Pants on Fire

Together with kindness and in understanding, let’s take this time to self reflect. I am here to inspire, encourage, and remind you that God has given us the the most important weapon we have to fight the enemy, his Word.

Now let’s dress our soul like we dress our bodies, EVERYDAY!

Liar Liar Pants on Fire

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15 ESV

The phrase, “liar liar pants on fire” has been around since the 1840’s. Children would scream this at each other whenever they thought others were lying. The word lie means, to make an untrue statement or create a false misleading impression.

In my life I have prided myself on being a great many things; loving, helpful, encouraging, caring, and funny to name a few. On the flipside of the coin, I have LIED. The ugly truth is, I have lied just to lie, I have lied to protect myself and others, or so I thought.  I lied out of fear of disappointment or angering others, and I have lied to myself saying, “I’m okay, everything is fine.” The truth was I wasn’t okay and everything was not alright! I may have fooled some folks, but never God.

I recognized that a lack of honesty hurts me as a credible witness to the gospel of Christ, and creates confusion.   TRUTH must take her rightful seat in my life, “center stage.” The fact is lies cost us. The question I had to ask myself was how much?  My spouse, family, friends, dreams, and peace of mind were all too high of a price to pay. God tells me that if I stand on truth, I will never be ashamed.

The word says, “The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.” Proverbs 12:22 NIV.  Truth, according to the scriptures, establishes and entrenches righteousness while lying will bring the displeasure and judgment of God. It is better we refuse to speak sometimes than to speak lies. Lord – give me the power to speak the truth in all circumstances and to stand by it. Amen.

Remember we are each others keeper and the only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are helping them up.
