Heavenly Father: 

OUT OF THE BELLY PRAYER

We come to you to give you glory and honor as we launch this book “OUT OF THE BELLY “ by Jannie Cudjo-Moore,

Father you have spoken with clarity,  grace and power, your creative word set into motion the universe.  You have moved upon Jannie to announce your words to your people then pass it on to subsequent generations.

And you have made her in your image —-to carry on your creative work, to bring order to ideas by noticing and naming what is true.  You have equipped her to set words on paper and to share those words with others.

Thank you Father for the joy of creative participation in this world you’ve made.

Help her to articulate truth, beautifully precisely and lovingly. May she present her God given ideas in a winsome way that does justice to their importance.

In a world full of distractions help her to focus on the task which you have called her.

Take these words that she have written and use them for your purposes.

May they shine light on truth 

clarify problems, 

unmasked misunderstanding, 

cultivate wisdom,

embolden action, 

increase faithfulness.

May her words point beyond what is worthy of lasting consideration.  May they exalt you as the God of all wisdom.

Thank you Father for those who helped her,  strengthen her, her family, her editors, 

her advisors, and her friends. Help her to see weak areas so that she can make them stronger.

Let her be teachable and receptive to appropriate critique while remaining rooted in your unconditional love for her.

Give her courage to release to the wider world what she have written. Remind her that her sense of worth does not depend on the value of a writing and that perfection belongs to You alone.

Keep her grounded Father, in the days ahead, as others read and response to her work. Guard her from pride disguised as self-deprecation or from self-centeredness.  May she not depend on accolades or bend to applause. Help her to walk in humility and grace with those who find her writings helpful as well as those who do not.

 Let this book “OUT OF THE BELLY”  bears God name with honor and written for His Glory alone.
